If I really want to buy their product, or I really need information on it, I can sometimes find a Google link to an inside page where I can continue my search. It never ceases to amaze me the number of fools who put up Flash home pages and don't have the sense to provide a link that will allow me to skip it. Likewise, if your software requires Flash I don't buy it. If your website requires Flash, I can't use it so I can't buy your product. The vast majority of Flash content on the web is ads so Flash is not on any of my computers. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise - and every little bit helps. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites - especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis. Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. Thank you for reading this Techdirt post.
